Charity in a Box is Adrian Taylor, trading as Charity in a Box, at adrian@charityinabox.uk.
What this site holds about people
Nothing. The pages are built from public information about organisations and places, and name no person. The site sets no cookies and keeps no record of who reads it beyond the ordinary server log, which is kept for thirty days.
Why you may have had an email from us
We write to organisations that could use what the records show about their field or their area. We use the business contact details an organisation publishes on its own website, or the address a charity gave the Charity Commission, and we keep a note of where each was read. Our basis in law is legitimate interest: offering a service to organisations, using the details they publish for that purpose. We do not profile individuals, buy lists or sell addresses.
How to stop it
Reply to any email with the word "no", or write to adrian@charityinabox.uk, and we will not write again; the address is kept only so that we never do.
If your organisation has a page here
Some pages on this site are written for one organisation, from public information about its field or its area, and search engines may read them. If you work there and would rather the page came down, write to adrian@charityinabox.uk and it comes down; you do not have to give a reason.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to the address above. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
